The Hockey Guy Is a Must Follow for all Hockey Fans

By Patrick Hoffman

If you've been following my Twitter feed as of late, you will notice that I have been promoting the heck out of someone that I have become a fan of because of his hockey knowledge, hockey fandom, and the way he talks about the game.

His name is Shannon Skanes and he is known as "The Hockey Guy (THG)". Shannon is all hockey, all the time on his YouTube channel The Hockey Guy - Daily News and Discussion.

On his fantastic hockey channel, Shannon posts multiple hockey videos a day. Some are on hockey news, some are on team histories, some are season reviews of past seasons, some are top 10 lists, and so on and so forth. If it's hockey-related, it will be on Shannon's channel.

As of this writing (July 16), Shannon's YouTube hockey channel has 112,780 subscribers. I've never made an Internet video before so the fact that Shannon has this amount of subscribers is unbelievably impressive to me.

There are several things that stand out when it comes to THG. For starters, his knowledge of the game knows no bounds.

You can tell right away in his videos that he does his research. His notes-filled bulletin board (s) shows that and the way he speaks about the game also makes it clear that he is confident in his deep knowledge of the game.

It's also quite amazing that he posts hockey videos every single day. By doing this, Shannon's channel channel has content that is always fresh and he also always has content on the channel in general that keeps hockey fans coming back for more.

Speaking of hockey fans, I am impressed with THG's fandom. If you look at his Facebook page and watch his videos, you will notice that he has an unbelievable amount of hockey jerseys and hockey books.

All in all, everything Shannon does shows that he loves our great game in many different ways. He works hard at it, he's smart, he's funny, and when it comes to hockey, he is the perfect example of a hockey fanatic.
