After having the best record in the league, home ice advantage in the first two games of the playoffs and scoring the first 3 unanswered goals in the first period of game one, anyone would assume that Tampa Bay was going to easily defeat the Blue Jackets. However, Columbus had different plans in mind.

The Blue Jackets goaltender, Sergei Bobrovsky made some unbelievable saves. That was all they needed to get the momentum going their way.

Late in the third period Columbus capitalized on a powerplay opportunity and made the score 4-3. Tampa was unable to answer that final goal.

The first game at home wasn’t a blow out for Tampa, but it didn’t give them a good deal of confidence going into game two. Again, at home, they hoped to thrive on their fans support.

This time, it was Columbus who started the game off strong with 3 unanswered goals, mirroring what the Lightening had done the previous game. However, they were able to pull off the win with a dominating 5-1 victory over Tampa Bay.

The Lightening take on the Blue Jackets tonight at 6pm in Columbus. The Lightening are hoping to strike back tonight to make the series 1-2.
